Danum Road Rally, April 16/17th Jeremy Wickins, Chief Marshal of the Danum Road Rally has written to us see if we can help on this year's event. The event takes place on the night of 16/17th April, starting and finishing at Sherburn Aero Club, Sherburn-in-Elmet (MR 105/526 330 or thereabouts) using maps 105 and 106. Signing on will be from about 8.30pm. Goody bags will be available at the start, and breakfast vouchers will be issued to anyone doing more than one control. Pirelli International Rally, Saturday 30th April 2011 I wonder whether you can help please.... I am running the "Falstone" stage on this year's Pirelli International Rally on Saturday 30th April. Just prior to my stage on the second run, the International and National competitors will visit a Remote Service. As well as staffing my stage, I am trying to assist Barry Armstrong (Chief Marshal) to find around 6 to 8 people to look after the Remote Service. This will involve In and Out controls at each end plus a few extra people to help manage the bit in between! Further details are as below: If anyone is interested and available to assist, I would be grateful if they could contact either Barry Armstrong (barmstro55@btinternet.com) or myself. Many thanks, Jon Binns The Tour of Hamsterley Rally, Sunday 8th May 2011 How did it get to be April already? Spring is here and along with it some great events. Today I'd like to bring to your attention a special event you might not have visited before, the Tour of Hamsterley Rally, the civilised rally, on a Sunday, at a respectable time, yet finishing at a reasonable hour to keep the family happy. Run in daylight in a challenging forest complex where the route of the stages is modified year on year. Always thrills and spills, not always where expected! This year it's in this forest only with 3 double run stages, the last stage taking the best bits of others and bolting them together to make for an 'interesting' final adventure for the cars and perhaps for the rest of us. The historics run ahead of the field. Start and Main service is a new venue Wilson Art in Shildon, Remote service in the woods after SS.3 and SS.6 Car 0 starts at 09.30 We have no details yet; that will be a week or two before we can slot you into place, neatly but the sooner you know you're available the easier it will be to plan. If you can assist please e-mail or ring, whatever is easiest for you. Many thanks, Bill Winning, billwinning@onetel.com Derwent Control NB: I am AWOL in France 16th - 28th April and will be in limited contact so Don't Panic!
