I formed ARD – Specialists in Land Rovers back in 1999 after serving as Dealer Principal at a Land Rover franchise in Pickering for 9 years. Having been in the automotive trade for over 25 years and I believed strongly that I could offer a more tailored, customer friendly solution to all things Land Rover as an independent dealer.

Since then ARD has grown rapidly, we have expanded our premises, invested in the very latest technology. We have an equally focused and customer committed team, many of whom have been with us at ARD since the very beginning. With my love of 4 wheel drive vehicles, I have now extended my franchise to include Ssang Yong vehicles as well as Land Rover. Recently we opened new service premises at Driffield, managed by Glynne Knighton, and these will be used for the scrutineering for this rally.

I am pleased to be associated once again with the “ARD Experts in 4 x 4 Thor Hammer Stages” organised by
De Lacy Motor Club Ltd. I have been involved with this motor club for many years, not only supplying them with vehicles for their other events, the Kall Kwik national rally and latterly the Roger Albert Clark Rally, but also driving the spectator control vehicle on both of these events.

In fact, this is me in my Ssang Yong Rexton spectator control vehicle on the 2005 Roger Albert Clark Rally.

Those of you, who know me, will also know that my rallying career started years ago. I have been involved at all levels of the sport for some 20 years now.

This is not the first time that I have been involved in supporting an organising team and sponsoring an event. I sponsored an event called the “Citro Sports Stages” at Melbourne Airfield in 1989. So I am delighted to be able to once again assist with the running of an event and I hope that you all have an excellent days sport.
